We have a row of leland cypress and some are taller than others. We want to trim them to a similar height. Is there any particular manner in which to trim the tress?
Thanks,
Kyle Ott

Leyland Cypress can be sheared to form a hedge if desired, or you can prune individual branches out to limit height. If you cut out the top however, you will have to continue cutting it at that height as the central leader will be lost and the trunk will become forked. It is better to wait until it has reached the desired height before beginning to trim the top. Once you begin pruning, you will need to prune often to maintain the desired size and shape. I hope this helps.
