|I bought these plants from a local nursery. How long do they bloom before dropping the flowers? I have 2 in full bloom that look great. But one doesn't look right. All the flowers are dropping off like it is done blooming, or dying. The plant itself looks ok but I am not sure as the others look so much better. I really think its dying. It really didn't bloom that long. They were expensive too.|
|The New Zealand Tea Tree usually blooms from early spring through early summer - 4-6 weeks, depending upon health and weather. These plants do not produce buds on the old wood so pruning can be a little touchy. Cut them back when they've finished blooming but don't cut all the way back to old wood or they won't put out any new growth.
The plant that doesn't look very healthy may just be suffering from transplant shock and may recover once the roots become established. If you're convinced it just isn't going to survive you might check with your local nursery. They may have a replacement policy. Best wishes with your garden!
