I am looking for a tall plant at each end of my house. I have looked at several different hollies and would like your suggestion. I don't like the real fat bushy kind. maybe more of a tree like form. Evergreen also. Thanks for your help

There are a variety of shrubs you could use ranging from an upright yew trained to a tall pyramid shape to hollies to upright junipers and so on. Your selection would depend on which way your house faces, whether it is sunny or shady and at what time of day, if it is windy or exposed in winter, what kind of soil you have and if it is extra wet or dry there, and of course the overall space you have for the plant to grow and mature. I would suggest you consult with your local professional nursery staff and/or county extension to analyze the growing conditions where you want to plant these and identify plants that would thrive there. Then you would select the one you like best from among those. Enjoy your new shrubs!
