i live in florida...i am creating a new flower is too late to plant lilly bulbs

You can plant lilies now but they may or may not bloom this year. Holding the bulb until next year is more of a problem and will likely not provide living bulbs at planting time. Go ahead and plant what you have and hope for the best.
