when is the proper time to prune and fertilize hibiscus

Charles,

Prune it at the end of winter and then do minor trimmig only if needed during the growing season. It is usually not necessary to prune much during the growing season. Fertilize monthly applying a soluble plant food such as Miracle Gro at the label rate if it is in a container. If it is in the soil youcan use a dry fertilizer such as a hibiscus food at the label rate.
