On March 29, 2005 we had 30 plants planted in our garden by Precure's Nursery in Oklahoma City among those were 3 Little Rascal Hollies. Normally, I would contact the Nursery (Precure's, in Oklahoma City) however, the owner has proven to be totally unresponsive to my concerns. We have learned the hard way that everything is great when you're buying the plants and labor for planting but when something goes wrong you're on your own. The plants seemed to perform just fine last season and they did take on purple winter color - we watered according to schedule and we fertilized all the evergreens in late February early March as instructed. One of the plants just never came back out this spring so we finally admitted it was dead and dug it up May 6, 2006. The other 2 still do not look good at all - I am unsure what to do. These plants have not performed as I thought - actually they are ugly. I know and have always been confident in the fact that Monrovia plants are the best you can get and I'm hoping that you can help us with the other two. Sincerely,

I'm sorry you are having trouble with your plants. Based on your description, I am not certain what is happening to them, there are many possible reasons for a plant to fail ranging from inappropriate planting site to poor installation to pest or disease. Since your retailer/installer has apparently not been helpful, you might wish to consult with your local county extension to try to determine what is wrong with the plants and do some trouble shooting. They may appreciate overall photos and closeups of any discoloration, along with a fresh cut sample kept cool and enclosed in a plastic bag. Based on knowing a firm diagnosis, then you can then decide how to proceed. If it is something that requires a chemical treatment, the extension staff will have the most up to date recommendations on what to use and how/when to use it. Monrovia is a wholesale only nursery, so any warranty on plants or installation would be based solely on the nursery where you purchased/installed the plants. I'm sorry I can't be more specific for you.
