One of my Henry Climatis has started to wilt and what looks like mildew with some die back, another one in the front yard is showing light green & yellowish leaves then die back. What can I do? |
Clematis are generally insect pest free but they can sometimes develop diseases. What you describe sounds suspiciously like Clematis wilt; affected vines wilt suddenly and then die. Dead vines should be cut at ground level, removed, and destroyed. Clematis wilt rarely kills the entire plant; affected plants usually send up new shoots. I would remove anything that looks as though it is wilting or mildewed as soon as possible to avoid the spread. Good luck with your plants! |
