|Why are my lilly plants starting to turn yellow around the roots and the leaf tips are turning brown. They were fine last week.

|Daylilies can yellow at the base if planted too deeply or if overwatered or if planted in a poorly drained location; overfertilizing can also cause discoloration. All of these can potentially cause root damage which also leads to foliage problems. Using "hot" mulch can also cause this type of symptom. If these are new plants, you may want to consult with your retailer for additional help troubleshooting, or possibly with your local county extension if none of these sound like a plausible cause. Good luck with your daylilies.
