I have a Bermuda front lawn with several pine islands in it. I would like to get rid of the pine islands and just have a bermuda grass lawn. The fastest way to do this would be to buy a couple pallets of sod and fill it in. It will grow in by it's self eventually but in the meantime it looks bad and the weeds grow faster than the grass. What other options do I have? If I spread seed or used plugs, what would be the best way to go about that, and could I expect it to look decent in one growing season? Any tips would be greatly appreciated

Dan,

Sod is the best option as far as covering quickly. Plugs would be next best. However, I should add that bermuda usually is not fond of growing under pine trees due to the shading. Keep the sod or plugs moist by watering once or twice a day for a week after planting and once every 2 days for the next week then every 3 or 4 days for another week. About 3 weeks after planting begin to fertilize lightly with a 3-1-2 ratio fertilizer at the label rate.
