Should I dead head Iris when the bloom dies?

Yes, iris should be deadheaded. Remove the individual bloom being sure to remove the entire flower and not just the petals. Once all the blooms on a stalk are faded, cut the bloom stalk off short at the base. Enjoy your iris!
