My clematis is around 6 years old. Last summer and agian this summer it has only had maybe 7 or 8 blooms and another hasn't bloomed at all. They receive morning sun but are shaded in the afternoon and their soil is well drained. |
Clematis blooms best when it receives all day sunshine. These vining plants produce flowers on new growth so early spring pruning is required for best flowering. Move your clematis to a site that provides afternoon sunshine and it should bloom well for you. Best wishes with your garden! |
