Japanese Lilac tree is rated well for USDA zones 3-7. You're on the edge of the zones it performs well in, but it should thrive and flower well for you. Monrovia does not sell Japanese Lilac trees, but a large local nursery might. Just give them a phone call. Best wishes with your landscape!
