The seed of banana peppers should germinate in 10-14 days. Plant them in trays of moistened potting soil, cover the trays with plastic wrap, and put them in a warm place such as on top of the refrigerator. Once the seeds have germinated, remove the plastic wrap and place the trays under a source of bright light such as "shop lights" or flourescent lights. Give them 14-16 hours of light each day. When the second pair of leaves have developed, transplant to individual pots. When the weather warms in the spring, harden off your transplants by putting them outdoors during the day and bringing them in at night. After about a week your transplants should be hardened off enough to thrive in the garden.
