Can I trim my Dwarf Japanese Garden Juniper in June. I do not want it to ground as a ground cover. I like being able to see the mulch between the plants.

This plant is a natural spreader (Juniperus procumbens `Nana` grows eventually to six feet across) but it does grow very slowly. You could trim a bit off the longest tips, cut just outside a side branch. Do not trim it back hard because it will not regrow well from a hard pruning. If you have a large area with several plants, you might consider removing some of the plants to leave room for the remaining plants to grow and still see mulch.
