|Please advise as to the care of a Jasmine? Can I plant in container on deck?
|You can grow it in a container outside for the summer, give it bright dappled light all day or a few hours of gentle early morning sun. You will need to bring it indoors in the fall before temperatures drop below about 50. Indoors it will do best in a cool room during the winter with temperatures no warmer than about 65 degrees along with ample humidity, good air circulation and bright indirect light. Water as needed to keep the soil slightly moist. Fertilize at the lowest rate on the label using a water soluble product with an analysis of 10-10-10 plus minors or similar proportions. Without knowing specifically which kind of jasmine you have it is difficult to be specific about the instructions (there are a number of different types of jasmine and several different plants that go by the common name of jasmine as well), but as a general rule the above should do. Enjoy your jasmine!
