| I recently planted a topiary in a clay pot and when I brought it, it was full and green. However after two (2) weeks I have noticed that the leaves are dying and they are turning brown. What can I do to maintain it's fullness and green leaves? |
| You didn't say what type of plant your topiary is - if it likes full sun, be sure it's getting adequate sunlight. If it prefers shade, be sure it's getting shade rather than full sun. Plants in terra cotta pots tend to dry out faster than those in plastic pots or planted in the ground. I'd immerse the pot in a larger container of water to make sure all the soil is moistened. Do this every 2-3 weeks during the growing season just to make sure the rootball doesn't dry out. It's also important to make sure the terra cotta pot is shaded from hot afternoon sunshine. Nothing is harder on plant roots than being baked in the sun! Hope this helps! |
