I have a three year old Bower Vine on a trellis/overhang. It grows vigorously but does not bloom/flower. It gets aproximately 5, maybe 6 hours of full sun a day. Thanks, Larry Wright |
Pandorea jasminoides is a tropical plant and needs ample light, warm temperatures, and rich soil to bloom well. It may be that your plant needs more than 5-6 hours of sunlight a day. If it doesn't get enough heat and sunlight, it may never gain enough strength to bloom. It is normally a summer bloomer, so you might try a hard pruning back in the winter time, to encourage lots of healthy new growth in the spring, which should bloom in the summer. Be sure to fertilize spring through fall with a water soluble fertilizer for flowering plants (such as 5-10-5 plus minors or similar proportions) per the label directions. Best wishes with your bower vine! |
