|The fluffy balls are seed heads. You can cut these off to tidy the plant and also to help promote stronger flowering. There are two ways to do this, one is to cut them off individually stem by stem, or alternatively, when the plant has a large number and flowering slows, cut the entire plant back lightly to remove them all at once.
In the early spring, trim the plant off short, cut the stems off close to the ground. This will remove the old growth and tidy it in preparation for the new season. Enjoy your blanket flowers!
