My fiance and I will be landscaping his family's pond for our late June or early July outside evening wedding. Could you please give us some suggestions of what flowers will abundant at this time? Any color but orange would be great! Also, I plan on carrying a fresh hand-tied bouquet of the same flowers that will be planted at the pond. I also plan on having the centerpieces designed out of fresh garden flowers.

This sounds like my kind of wedding! It will be extra special because you're featuring flowers you've grown yourselves - what a great metaphor!

In Deleware, your last frost is around April 20, so you should be safe to plant around May 1. Most any annual flowers you want to grow will be blooming by the end of June, even if you sow the seed directly in the soil. You probably should play it safe for such a special occasion, though, so I suggest starting seedlings indoors about 6-8 weeks before you set them in the gardens. Look through the Burpee catalog for flowers that suit your eye - if you need more specific information about any of them, please submit your questions through the Q&A page, and we'll be happy to help. Oh, I just had an idea -- since it's to be an evening wedding, might be nice to have night-blooming flowers (moonflower, nicotiana, evening primrose). Have fun!
