|I noticed this AM that the flowers and buds are being bitten off. The stem remains. These are large hostas, the flowers being about 3 feet tall. Could this be deer? rabbit? We see no tracks. we also have some small hostas where just the top of the leaves are being chomped off. What do you think?
|I would suspect deer are nibbling on your hosta plants. Rabbits generally munch closer to the ground, although they will stretch to reach something they think is tasty. Deer, on the other hand, typically munch out the tops of plants or the tips of branches. There's not much you can do to keep deers or bunnies from feeding on your plants other than to fence the area. Wish I had better news for you!|
