I just purchased a Pardon Me daylily plant at our new Lowe's store. It has plenty of blooms and buds to come, but was not watered properly therefore the foliage is a yellowish/green. I have been giving it Fertilome fertilizer and it just gets the morning sun only. Is this the best care to bring its wonderful green foliage back? Thanks for your help! Karolina |
For anyone not familiar, the Hemerocallis ?Pardon Me?, also known as a Daylily, has a very fragrant, small cranberry-wine, almost red flower, with a yellow throat, and a flower size of 3?. With dark green foliage, this daylily will reach a height of 18? and a plant spread of 23-29?. ?Pardon Me? will bloom from May through July, with outstanding color and a definite rebloomer. ?Pardon Me? prefers a full sun area that is well-drained. It will grow in morning sun only, but it won't flower quite as prolifically. Although the blooms will last only for one day, there are many blooms on strong stems that rise above tall grassy foliage. ?Pardon Me? is considered to be pest and deer resistant. The care you're giving your new daylily should help it green up again. It may take a few weeks, but the foliage should gradually become a deeper green. Best wishes with your new daylily. |
