I have a buddleia(dark purple) that has healthy growth, but the blooms will not open. They stay in bud and never open. I have had this plant several years and it is planted in a group of three, one white and one blue. The two other plants produce beautiful blooms. Is there anything I can provide for the plant to make its blooms open?

Since your other two plants are fine and this one seems to grow and set buds just fine (with the exception of the opening problem) and this has continued for several years, I don't think there is anything you are doing wrong or need to be doing. Based on your description I don't think it is a pest or disease issue either. I think this is a defect with that particular plant. You might want to check with your local county extension to see if they have any other ideas, but unfortunately I don't think there is anything you can do.
