our mimosa tree is near the house and the flowers are making a mess on the roof and around the house. It is about 15 years old and very large. Is there a chemical that can be applied to stop the flowering?
Thanks for any help you can provide.

I wish I had some good news for you, but there really is no way to stop your mimosa from producing flowers. Any chemical that might inhibit flowering (growth regulators) may very well be toxic to mimosa. You might want to consult with the horticulture agent at your local Cooperative Extension office (look in the white pages under County Offices). They may have some advice to share.
