hello I recently bought an asparagus densiflorous myers or pony tail fern. it has grown considerably over a short period of time. however the leaves are not coming in dense at all . the new growth is extremely long measuring 3 feet and the bristles on each |
Asparagus densiflorus 'Myers' or pony tail fern can be grown as an indoor container plant. It will need ample direct sun to help it stay dense. In too little light it will look thin and leggy. Also take care not to overfertilize it with nitrogen. Use a general purpose water soluble fertilizer such as 10-10-10 plus minors at the weaker label rate, spring through fall. (Your plant may have been given a slow release fertilizer prior to purchase. Fertilizer combined with low light would result in thin growth.) Thank you for asking about a catalog. Monrovia has an online plant listing but does not sell by catalog or internet. Monrovia plants are sold by independent retailers, and each store will have its own selection of products. Please check directly with dealers in your area about which plants they have in stock. There is a zip code based dealer locator at the Monrovia web site http://azdomino.monrovia.com/d... Enjoy your pony tail fern! |
