Saw your nursery on Melinda Myers Gardening show on evergreens. We have checked out your site and found Siberian Cypress. We have a partially shaded hillside bank on the north side of our home, humid conditions near Lake Michigan, clay soil. Would this plant thrive on our site? Would you have other suggestions? Thank you for your time in advance!! Diane

Siberian cypress requires excellent drainage and prefers to grow in part to full shade in your gardening region. Planting on a hillside should ensure good drainage but I'd work in some organic matter prior to planting your new cypress, just to make sure.

Best wishes with your landscape!
