| The most common reason for this plant to yellow and drop foliage is overwatering. The soil should be damp but not saturated or sopping wet. To know if you need to water, dig into the soil with your finger and see. If it is still damp, do not water yet. Also be sure the drainage hole in the bottom of the container is not blocked. If there is a tray under the pot, empty it of excess water. If you plan on keeping it in a container, you may want to repot it into a larger one. This will help insulate the roots from excess heat during the summer and also allow for more root growth to support a larger plant. Since this is a new plant, I would also suggest you consult with your retailer about the yellowing. Enjoy your fig tree! |
