Is The Clown Rose Mallow deer resistant? - Knowledgebase Question

I am trying to make a decision as to whether to plant this behind my fence or out in the open where the deer can easily get to it (which is what I would prefer for landscaping purposes). So, I was wondering if you know how well the deer like it?

Deer resistance is a difficult subject; it really depends upon the deer population and the competition for food. Hibiscus moscheutos (rose mallow) is occasionally damaged by deer in the Pacific Northwest. If it were my plant, I'd keep it enclosed rather than out in the open, just to be on the safe side.

Best wishes with your garden!
