ihave a tree for over a year and it don't seem to be growing and the leaves seem to be turning brown it did produce two magnolias this spring what am i doing wrong |
Thomas, Magnolias are not fond of your high pH soils which often are also black clay making the growing even more stressful. I suggest you mulch a large area around the tree to keep weeds away and to keep the soil moist and a little cooler. Water enough to keep the soil moist but don't drown the plants. Fertilize with a product for acid loving plants such as azalea/camellia food or Miracid. In a little more time it may get established a little better and start growing better. Good luck with your magnolia. Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon! |
