Are the things that grow from the flowers on potato plants edible? Can they be planted like seed potatoes?

Most commonly grown potatoes will produce flowers but the flowers are for the most part sterile; any seeds found in the pods will likely be sterile, as well. You can certainly try collecting and planting the seeds, but your success rate may be rather low. If you decide to try, allow the seed pods to mature, then extract the seeds, dry them on papertowels and seal them up for sowing next spring. Plant as you would tomato seeds.

Best wishes with your potatoes!
