Sunflowers are really, really easy to grow. My grandpa had a spot on his property that every spring he would just let me toss a handful and sure enough, they came up and shot towards the sky! The only real requirement you need is a lot of sun, they will actually turn their "heads" to follow the path of the sun across they sky. They don't need rich soil either, truly a low maintenance plant. If you would like to feed them, you can use a simple 5-10-10.
