I have a wonderful plant that has been blooming since early Spring. It came in a small pot and I lost the tag. Now it's happily growing in the ground and is about 2' around and lays out in a circle. I can't find anything on it, so don't know if it should be cut back or not.

It's growth pattern is similar to Asparagus Fern except much, much smaller and softer. Stems branch off of stems and flowers appear on nearly every stem. The flowers are made up of 5 roundish petals, lilac color with a yellow center and pistil (?), and up to about 1

Although you've given quite a bit of detail in your description, I'm not able to identify your plant. There are literally hundreds of plants that could fit your description. You may be able to find a similar plant in your local nursery (one with a tag), or you can try taking one of the stems to your nursery to ask if they can identify it. Take a flowering stem if possible - flowers make any plant easier to identify.

Best wishes with your new plant!
