I have a peace lily that is 12 years old. Like many times in the past, I had to move her to a bigger pot. I replanted her and since then she has never recovered. She always looked wilted and most of her leaves turned brown. I replanted her again but it still didn't help. I have replanted her one last time and cut back all of the brown leaves hoping to give her another chance because in all of this she has not completely died. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. |
Carole, Very strange. Perhaps a root rot is involved. Wet soil conditions and/or root injury can bring on such a problem. When a plant is moved to a large pot it is easy to overwater since the roots don't fill the soil volume initially. I suggest you watch the soil moisture very carefully, provide adequate lighting but not too much and possibly visit a nursery for a fungicide product labeled to control root rot of plants. Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon! |
