I have a few Windmill Palms and I was wondering if the branches or leaves need to be cut of, ripped off, or left on if they ever become brown and dead looking?

As the lower leaves turn brown they can be cut off. Some gardeners leave several inches of stub; others saw them off closer to the trunk. You can remove them when they are completely brown.

Best wishes with your landscape!
