Compost is partially decomposed organic matter and is typically marketed as "compost". Compost can be purchased on both a bagged and bulk basis. Where bagged composts can be more convenient to use, in certain circumstances, purchasing compost in bulk form can often provide you with a cost savings. Not only do many composters, garden centers, and topsoil dealers, make bulk compost available for pick-up, but many can also deliver compost directly to your home in bulk form. Aside from providing you a cost savings, purchasing compost in bulk form also allows you the customer the ability to see (inspect) what you're buying! This allows you to choose the product which best meets your needs, and preferences. Consider buying bulk compost for your larger gardening or landscaping projects.

You can start with your local Home Depot. The garden section generally contains bagged compost. If you prefer to purchase in bulk, Home Depot may be able to provide it, or may be able to direct you to a local source. You can also check your yellow pages under "top soil" and find retailers willing to deliver to your home.

Best wishes with your landscape!
