Propagating lantana and pentas - Knowledgebase Question

I've never had any success w/ propagating lantana. Which time of year and part of the plant should I use? Would it also be possible to scrape the edge of a branch, bury it, and take it away from the mother when rooted.
What about pentas --- same questions.

Thank you so much for any info you can offer, Dianne

Dianne,

Yes that technique called layering is a good option. Rather than scratch the side of a branch, bend it until it cracks but doesn't break in two. Then bury the wounded spot and keep it moist. The following web site offers info on layering:

Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon!
