I want to use River birch in town square in very large, really very large, garden like planters, with boulders and bark. Area is windy, hot, and deciduous is NOT an issue. Just wonder if tree will be right. What do you think?

River birch is a robust and vigorous tree. While it makes best growth on moist river bottom soil, it has proven to be adaptable to dried sites, and performs well in soils that are acidic to neutral, pH 6.5 or lower. As long as the containers are well irrigated, River birch should grow well in your town square.
