I planted a camellia bush (Zone 7) almost 10-11 months ago. The plant itself is thriving and growing great and seems very healthy. My question is: why has it not bloomed? What month do they bloom? |
In general the sasanquas bloom in the fall and the japonicas bloom mostly during the winter; within the japonicas there is a wide range of bloom time. Without knowing the name of your camellia, I can't tell you exactly when to expect blooms. Most camellias need to become well established before they will bloom. It may take two or three years after planting, so don't give up on your plant just yet. Be patient and one day, between November and March, your camellia will bloom for you. Enjoy! |
