|What is the best time of year to:|
Transplant six foot high forsythia?
Prune ten foot high virburnum?
|If you transplant your forsythia now it may be stressed enough that it won't bloom this winter. I'd wait until after it has flowered then prune it back a bit and transplant it to its new location early next spring. Viburnums should be pruned in the early spring, just as new leaves begin to develop. This will give it all summer to recover and set flower buds for the following year's bloom. You can safely remove about 3' of growth from your viburnum, reducing it to about 6' in height.|
Best wishes with your landscape!
