My kitchen window looks out to a fence facing SW with a 5' depth. I want to plant something that I can enjoy looking at. I love topiaries, blooming plants, evergreens with attractive leaves, good smelling plants. I have a star jasmine also. I need to keep it about 2' in diameter so I can walk by it. What do you recommend? I'm in zone 7. Thanks for your time, Judi

Viburnum opulus 'Compactum' beautiful flowering shrub in every way. Well sized compact plants flower in spring with a super abundance of white flowers. Large 3 inch inflorences bear a lacecap ring of sterile florets surrounding a center of small fertile blossoms. Red translucent fruits that follow are ornamental well into the fall after leaf drop. Lush green maple-like leaves take on rich burgundy hues in Autumn. High wildlife value. Top rated foundation shrub at high visibility positions. Lovely informal hedge or use in shrub borders. Showy enough to use as single specimen or group them for greater impact. Deciduous shrub. Full to partial sun. Fast growing to 4 to 5 feet tall and 5 to 6 feet wide.
