|Do you have any instructions on how to build a sunflower playhouse?|
|A sunflower play house can be made by measuring the size you
want the house to be. Usually the playhouse is square, but there is no reason you couldn't have it circular or rectangular. First, work the soil in the area and add organic matter. Then, mark off the walls of the "house" with a hoe. Plant your seed about three to six inches apart, leaving a space for a door. The door would be best on the north side.
To make sure you have a good stand of flowers, it might be wise to plant a little heavier than suggested above and thin the unneeded plants as they grow. With the sunflowers being so close together, plenty of water and fertilizer will be required. A very rich soil would be best.
If you like, you could plant morning glories or another flowering vine between the sunflowers--they'll climb the stems. Then, once the sunflowers get tall and strong, you can carefully weave string between the "necks" just below the flower, creating a web of string over the roof ofyour house. The morning glories will climb over the string, shading your room.
Be sure you choose tall varieties of sunflowers. There are lots of dwarf sunflowers out now; you wouldn't want a mini house!
