|I live in Atlanta. My home is 12 years old. Large front lawn with southern exposure. Full sun. I'd like to find a single tree to plant around my mailbox area...a beautiful, specimen tree. The island around the mailbox has a stack stone wall around it. Want the tree to be hardy, love the sun and heat, and grow no more than 15-18 feet tall. Would like it to flower if possible for color...i like the look of a river birch with the peeling trunk but I understand they grow over 20-30 feet tall. I plan to have 'uplighting' against the tree so it should be beautiful. DOn't want a shrub. Any ideas?|
Sorry for the delayed reply. I would suggest a medium sized crape myrtle for that area. There are many great choices in the height range you mentioned. The bark is beautiful.
