Pruning Cape Honeysuckle - Knowledgebase Question

HI! I had to cut my 15' high cape honeysuckle down to a 6' fence height. It had mildew on the north side. Will it grow back from the cut branches? It was a great cover between neighbors. Thanks for your time.

I think you've done your Cape Honeysuckle a favor by pruning it back. The fungal growth was probably due to poor air circulation from being so close to your fence. Pruning will open it up to better air circulation. Your plant will grow from the pruning cuts (or just below them), and should produce some new growth from the root area. Enjoy!
