|I just planted a lorapedlum (sizzling pink) 2 weeks ago. About 1/3 of the leaves have started turning orange. Is this normal for lorapedlum to turn orange in the fall or is my shrub dying?|
|Since your Loropetalum was only recently planted, I suspect the color change is due to transplant stress. These leaves will drop, but should be replaced with healthy new leaves once the roots become established. Loropetalum can be semi-deciduous in cold weather (lose some, but not all of its leaves) and color change is one of the indications that those particular leaves will drop.
Hope this answers your questions!
