Pepper Color - Knowledgebase Question

I am aware that typically bell peppers turn red if allowed to ripen. My question is, is this rule absolute? Are there ANY exceptions? Are there ANY varieties of bell peppers that do not turn red if left to ripen?

Most sweet peppers will turn red if left on the vine. One of the keys to harvesting is that the peppers have reached mature size and have turned the color they're supposed to be - yellow, orange, red, purple. Some green hot peppers either stay green or turn a chocolatey-brown color when allowed to fully mature.
