perrinnals in So Fla - Knowledgebase Question

I would like to plant Perinnals in a sunny area most of the day with the most color and with the bloom that lasts the longest and doesn't grew to tall because it has to go under a small dwarf tree. There are three flower beds by a pool on the beach? Any suggestions?
