When and how to prune or trim an aucuba.
It is 6 years old. grown by a stem. over 6 feet
tall and wide.

If you feel your plant needs to be trimmed, do so in late winter to early spring. You can reach into the plant and trim out some of the longest stems and maintain the natural shape, or you can shear it. Congratulations on growing such a big healthy shrub!
