I live in Central Florida, my azaleas are not doing well. The leaves are light green and not flowering well. I was told I need to add acid to the soil. How do I do this?

Your plants can be fertilized with acidifying fertilizers such as those sold as Azalea/Camellia food. You can also add sulfur to the soil gradually over time. Follow label directions for amount to add per given area. I think the fertilizing alone will help. Also take care not to keep the soil too soggy wet or too dry.
