Please advise the most suitable narrow evergreens to plant in a formal garden. I have a 15'x15'hard surface patio with two 3'planters on either side which are each flanked by a one-story garage. I would like to plant white roses between a row of narrow evergreens (which can be trimmed or will not exceed the 2' beyond the height of the garages but will be taller than roses when first planted.) Some selections I have considered are Little Emperor Blueberry, Tiny Tower Cypress, Spartan Juniter, or Carolina Laurel. Thank you in advance for your advice. |
All of the plants you're considering are good choices. Of them, Tiny Tower cypress will require the least maintenance because of its natural growth pattern. Little Emperor Blueberry, Juniper and Carolina Laurel will all need to be pruned on a regular basis. I think for color, size, and ease of maintenance, I'd choose Tiny Tower cypresses for the site. Best wishes with your landscape! |
