I recently purchased a Christmas cactus. I have small children. Are the flowers or plant poisonous? Also mine has red and fuchsia flowers. Is this normal to have 2 different colors? Thanks!

Christmas cactus is not on any of my lists of poisonous plants, but I wouldn't encourage the children to eat the flowers or the foliage. As for the different color flowers, it may be that you have two separate plants in the same pot (are the fuchsia and red flowers on the same stem or on different stems?), or it could be that the color change is due to the maturity of the different flowers. They may start out a fuchsia color and then turn red as they get older - or vice versa. Either way, I think the color differences simply add to the festivity of the season.

Best wishes with your Christmas cactus!
