This is my first year of planting bulbs and they are doing ok. I was wondering when the time comes to pick them, how do I do it? Do I pull it up from the bulb itself and if I do that, it won't be there for the next season.

You can safely cut the flower stems from your bulbs to take indoors. Wait until the color is fully developed and the flowers are just beginning to open and they'll last a long time in a vase of water. It's okay to take a leaf or two along with the flower but you'll want to leave most of the foliage; leaves manufacture carbohydrates for the bulb which provides the energy it needs to develop a new flower for the following year.

Enjoy your bulbs!
